Would You Consider Selling Your Site?
That was a question put to me in the past few days. The buyer wasn’t interested in this site, it was another I have, a rather popular celeb site.
My initial thought was “nah” but like everything in life if the price is right then what is not for sale? Remember the movie where the guy sold his wife to a millionaire for the night?
Back to the site sale, the email mentioned “a genuine offer”, mmm okay I thought, so I fired a quick email back to the guy and outlined a few basics about the site, age, traffic etc.
Shortly after I received an offer………….“I think between £750-£1250 would be about right” - I nearly choked on my coffee. The site earns more than that a month which I promptly told the interested buyer.
That made no difference as he offered his thoughts that the type of site - which has been online for six years - only has a lifespan of around 18 months.
What a joke. I recall being offered £20,000 for it back in August 2005 and I rejected that offer as being too little as well.
