Irish rockers U2 will reissue their first three albums next month with a truckload of previously unreleased and rare material that includes remixes and live tracks.

“Boy,” “October” and “War,” with hit the shelves on July 22 via Universal. There will be a variety of formats including a remastered single CD, deluxe 2 disc sets with second disc containing the extras, and the three albums will also be made available on vinyl.

For the life of me I can’t figure out the reasoning behind this promotion other than money. The band nor the albums are celebrating any landmark achievements or anniversaries.

However the band are back in the studio with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, the team behind ‘The Joshua Tree’, working on a new album which may be out before the end of the year.
