Spamming Google
December 21, 2006
I came across this by reading a guys thread offering SEO services.
I took a look at an example he offered.
He gave a link to the Google result for a two word keyphrase.
The site’s homepage was a spamfest with 60 odd repatitions of his keyphrase example. WTF?
Oh yes it was #1 as he said but the page was an eye sore. Oh did I mention the 60 odd uses of the keyphrase? Maybe I forgot to add the numerous uses of the two words on their own and mixed with a few other keywords.
I am gobsmacked at how this shit gets a # 1 position - Results 1 - 10 of about 1,840,000.
I even checked it on McDar and yep it was # 1 across most of the datacentres.
I really have to ask how can this be? Is the algo Google have deployed that bad? IMO it must be as this kind of low quality shite, sorry site, is the most relevant site according to Google and it has it positioned #1 out of 1,840,000.
It got worse when I done a site check on Google and found link pages such as:
web design
online casinos
web hosting
travel
prescriptions
hotel reservations
free stuff
search engine submission
debt reduction
This site was a garden related site.
The guys sitting below him must be seething as the links page blatantly describes it’s intentions of manipulating the SERPS with linking strategies.
To end I’ll just add that I just noticed an affiliate link for AllPosters.com on the links page too - time for me to go.
