Sky HDTV
March 24, 2006
Sky TV have announced prices for their new HDTV. An extra £10 a month on top of the normal subscription already being paid. You will also need a new set top box to view the higher quality pictures which will set you back £299.
So far their is a very limited number of channels - Sky Sports HD, Sky Movies HD, Sky One HD, Artworld HD, National Geographic HD, Discovery HD, BBC HD & Sky Box Office HD. Not much is it?
The BBC announced today they will broadcast their World Cup matches and Wimbledon on the new service.
Shops have been trying to flog HD Ready TV’s for over a year now, I’m really not sure this is going to take off the way they suggest. It will be all hype and I really don’t see myself running out to buy a new TV so I can watch 7 channels and a PPV channel. Add to that the set top box is disgusting, I think I’ll stick with what I have for now.
