Today the NFL and the New York Giants suspended a combined seven players.  The Giants basically told Plaxico Burress to have fun with his trial and that he wasn’t all that so he got dropped for the remainder of the season.  No word on if he would be allowed back on the team for the playoffs, but odds are they will keep him away from the team.  Plus Mayor Bloomberg has a raging hardon to get Plax in jail for at least three years over his gun charges.   I guess he still remembers that Diddy got off for similar charges and now it is payback time.  The NFL, not to be outdone, suspended six players for substance abuse violations.  The players,  running back Deuce McAllister and defensive linemen Charles Grant and Will Smith of New Orleans; defensive linemen Kevin and Pat Williams of Minnesota; and long snapper Bryan Pittman of Houston, had their appeal rejected for taking a diuretic that can be used as a masking agent for steroids.  All four will now miss the rest of the regular season.  Minnesota fans are crying now that they have lost half of their defensive line….good luck stopping the run.
