How Many Bank Accounts Do You Have?
To be honest I don’t care and more importantly it’s none of my business but I will tell you many I have…………according to the daily emails I receive.
1. Bank Of Scotland
2. Natwest
3. Barclays
4. HSBC
5. Halifax
6. Lloyds TSB
So I have six bank accounts according to my emails from yesterday. And they all need me to verify my account number and security details. Sure, no problem. The only thing is, I don’t bank with any of these companies.
They are just scammers chancing their luck in the hope that someone who does bank with them doesn’t realise that they are false and readily provides the information they are asking.
I often wonder who would be naive to do this.
The bottom line is there are many who do because they read the email and start to worry that someone may have accessed their account. It is understandable. It is also foolish.
The points to remember are:
1. Your bank will NEVER email you and ask you any of this information. So never reply to ANY email or click any links within the email that asks anything related to usernames, passwords, account numbers etc. This actually applies to anything online, not just banking.
2. If someone does illegally beat the banks online security and gains access to your account then they will refund your money without question. Banks don’t want to scare people off from using online banking, it saves them a fortune and that means higher profits.
3. The only emails you should receive from banks etc are promotional emails advertising their latest loan or mortgage offer or to tell you that your latest statement is ready for you.
Don’t be fooled by these emails, they look real, they seem genuine, they use all the proper logos etc but they are fake.
Don’t get conned. ![]()
