Dallas Stars center Sean Avery was suspended by the NHL for making an honest comment about the ongoing trend of other hockey players dating his ex-girlfriends.  Avery has dated Sports Illustrated model Rachel Hunter and all around movie hottie Elisha Cuthbert only to see them go on to get freaky with other players.  Hunter moved on to date Jarret Stoll of the LA Kings and Cuthbert has gone on to date Dion Phaneuf and Mike Komisarek.  The comment in question that got Avery in hot water with the league was:

“I’m really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada,” the Ontario native said. “I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about, but enjoy the game tonight.”

Now I think that he was just speaking the truth and nothing is wrong with that.  If the league has an issue they should make it a rule that players can’t go in for sloppy seconds.  Either way Sean Avery had the quote of the hockey season so far.
