Man Performs DIY Surgery With A Steak Knife

Every day as I surf the net there is always one story that jumps out at me and I end up sat shaking my head in total disbelief. This tale is todays unbelievable story.
A man who was suffering breathing difficulties took medical matters into his own hands in a rather extreme way – by performing a tracheotomy on himself with a steak knife.
Steve Wilder, of Omaha, Nebraska, woke in the night struggling to breathe. Fearing that he was about to die, and not believing that an ambulance would reach him in time, he took the obvious course of action – he went to the kitchen and picked up a steak knife. He used the knife to cut a hole in his throat, allowing air into his lungs.
Doctors say that they expect Wilder to make a full recovery from his throat-cutting experiment, and that once the wound heals he shouldn’t suffer any adverse effects.
