Lost All My Email Contacts
May 15, 2007
Arrgghhh!!!!
I installed a fresh version of Windows XP last Monday on a brand new hard drive after a security breach - that is a post all of it’s own that is pretty frightening, I’ll do it soon - anyway I made my list of things to do and back up, exporting all the files I needed and wanted for my new install.
Today I realised that the only thing I never exported was my Web Address Book for Outlook Express. Ouch. There were hundreds of contacts in that list too, friends, associates, work contacts and much more.
Now I could whip the side off my box and throw the old hard drive back in and copy the WAB over but I’m too lazy to do that, so I need an alternative, something quicker. I’m thinking that I could be doing with a case to throw the old HD into that will use a USB connection and Hey Presto! - access to the old, infested, drive. Mmmm. Do I really want to attach an infested drive to my now clean machine? Not really, so what are the alternatives? If you can make any suggestions please feel fee to post a comment or use the contact form.
And a final note to anyone reading this who knows me, drop me an email, tell me I’m a pratt and whatever other obscenities you care to call me, then I can save your email addy ![]()
