GroupBar
April 19, 2006
A new tool for Windows XP users. It works very much like the taskbar but I find that becomes cluttered and messy if I’m using several programs at once. I hate when it starts building walls or the icons become so compact that you lose track of what is what.
Use this page to download it. You will have to scroll down all the various downloads until you come to GroupBar.
I created a folder in Program Files for it called groupbar. Once downloaded run the file and install it. After this go to Start > All Programs > Start Up then right click it and select Open. In the new window go to File > New > Shortcut. Now browse to the installation folder and select GroupBar.exe then click OK followed by Next then Finish. It seems a lot to do but it’s easy.
Ok go and open it up now, mess around with it and have fun. One other thing I done was to autohide the taskbar at the bottom and put the GroupBar at the left hand side of my screen.
Handy add-on for people who open a lot of applications at once. Below you can see it down the left hand side of my desktop.
