Notre Dame to suck again
The Notre Dame faithful that have been calling for the end of the Charlie Weis era will not get their wish after the school announced that he will return for another year as head football coach. The Irish are coming off another awful year that aw them lose to Syracuse at home in a game they were favored to win by 20! They also were treated like a high school team by USC last week as they didn’t record a first down until the last play of the third quarter. Add to that they have lost a school record 15 games the last two years for the first time in history and had a soft schedule that was supposed help them win some more games this season. The only guarantee with the Irish is that Charlie will look confused on the sideline as he cashes a big paycheck for running a once proud program further into the ground.

To my mind the Figthitin’ Irish are akin to what the Oakland Raiders have become in the NFL. Both teams suck immensely and they believe in their own self importance when it comes to the game.
Unfortunately for us we can’t pick and choose when to watch the Irish merely becase of the de facto mouthpiece that they’ve got in NBC and in particular NBC’s Head of Sports Dick Ebersol, a Notre Dame graduate.
