BT Broadband

April 30, 2006

Just a quick note for any BT Broadbband users. Earlier this month I was talking about free upgrades to your internet connection. Well after a quick look into this I found out you have to apply for it. What a joke. I was under the impression it would be like previous upgrades where BT done it without you having to ask them too.

What their aim is here is to get you to sign up for broadband phone calls where your telephone is plugged in to the router and you get evening and weekend calls at no charge. For this service you pay £2 a month if you are on Option 2 or 3 of their broadband packages or if you are on option 4 it is free. You can also pay £7 a month to include daytime calls. The usual rules apply on both counts. Calls are free up to 60 minutes to a local or national number. The other change would be that you would pay for your internet connection on your phone bill unlike now where you pay for it separately.

Sounded like a lot of nonesense to me but what the fuck do I know. I’d rather keep it all seperate. I don’t want to change to a new router, I’m happy with the one I have nor do I want my phone hanging out the back of it.

Here is the link for upgrading, you can do as I done and upgrade without all the new bells and whistles.
