Big Daddy

March 31, 2006

The current Google infrastructure/software update nicknamed Big Daddy threw up a surprise today, no they never fixed many of the problems they are suffering but whatever knob they turned it restored some of my highly positioned search listing that I had prior to Sept 22nd last year.

On that day Google changed their algorithm/filtering and my site crashed from hundreds of top 10 positions to nowhere.

It’s a shame they only have 140 pages out of my 1200 page site in the index at the moment, a current problem they have with tens of thousands of sites, or I’d have been back to my previous earning levels but I’m not complaining. It’s a step in the right direction, though will it last?

Who knows, the results on Google have been fluctuating so much for the past three months it’s hard to know what will happen in the next hour never mind the next week or month.

It is possible to do a search then hit the refresh button on your browser and the top 10 results change. It won’t happen everytime but it can, and does.

Time will tell where Big Daddy is going next, hopefully they will take me along for the next part of the trip.
