£280k For Jimi’s Burnt Guitar

Music collector Daniel Boucher from Boylston, Massachusetts should have used some of the half million dollars he paid for the an old Jimi Hendrix guitar on having his head examined.
The Fender Stratocaster was set ablaze at the end of a London gig in 1967 by Hendrix, who had to be treated for minor burns, fetched £280k / $500k yesterday at auction.
It was the first of many guitars to be set on fire by Hendrix and was expected to sell for £500k / $1m.
Boucher said: “I’m going to play it — I hope some of it rubs off on me.” - nut case!!!
